Hello and welcome to The Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast. My name's Dean Jackson, and today we have a podcast for you. I mean a real podcast. We went over the hour, but I think you're going to agree that this is a really great conversation.
Today I want to share a conversation I had with Chuck Charlton. I first met Chuck and his wife Melissa about 16 years ago when they moved to a brand new area to start their real estate business, and I’ve been with them the whole way, working very closely setting up and helping them get started with the Getting Listings and Finding Buyers programs, and working all the time to, really without having the name for it, build a listing agent lifestyle.
Chuck is one of my favorite people to talk to. We've worked very closely over a lot of these years, and they've built an amazing business.
I think Chuck is the perfect next guest after you've just heard Tony Kalsi with the most recent four year case study, Chuck is the OG. The original.
When we first launched the Getting Listings program in 2005, or 2006, Chuck was the person who got the first listing from the program, before the course even ended, and has gone on to build an amazing business on the back of that, continuing to add to it.
He's a real student of the game. A real thoughtful, diligent executor, and I'm happy to share this conversation with you.

Welcome to the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast. Today I want to share a very exciting episode I recorded with my good friend Tony Kalsi from Toronto.
We talk about the results he’s had from the getting listings program, and in the show notes is an infographic that goes with this episode.
What you're looking at is the results of a four year case study that we did with Tony Kalsi from September of 2013 to September of 2017 running a program we call Getting Listings.
It shows the expense, the capital investment of spending and sending the postcards and the newsletters to a very specific group of people. The outcome… $50,000 invested, $543,000 out the other end, an 11 times return on investment.
We're going to talk about it, we're going to dissect it, we're going to talk about the future of it and I think that you are really going to enjoy this premiere episode of the Listing Agent Lifestyle.
What’s even more exciting in now, almost 4 1/2 years later, Tony’s keeps having success with the program.

Today on the podcast, we’re continuing our live mastermind sessions from the Listing Agent Academy we held earlier in the year.
This is a session about multiplying listings and all the things you can do to multiplying the number of transactions you get from each listing you take.
It was great to get with some of the top agents from all over the US and Canada to talk about what’s working for them, and the steps you can take to improve your listing multiplier score.

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're going to listen in on a session from a live mastermind summit that we did about the Listing Agent Lifestyle.
This is the 2nd part of a two-part podcast, so go back one episode if you missed the first part, and what we're talking about here is the idea of creating a team of ‘whos’.
You've heard me talk about this idea of 'who not, how' to support you in building out your listing agent lifestyle, and we're starting to see, more and more, as we move into the twenties, this collaborative model working out.
There are some amazing success stories in the general business world that are a result of this collaborative model, so we're going to apply that to real estate and specifically to the listing agent lifestyle elements over the next several weeks.
This is a great episode for us to set the stage because this last week, Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy's new book called Who Not, How was released, and it's based on my idea of the self milking cow, and surrounding yourself with the people who can support you, rather than learning how to do something.

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Glen Teghtmeyer, who's in the unique position of living in Nanaimo, British Colombia but having a business in Alberta.
Glen spent a lot of time in Alberta. He has a really great foundation there with family ties and a lot of business, but he moved his family out to Nanaimo five or six years ago, so we spent this episode talking about how to really have it all. How to have both run a business in Alberta and live in Nanaimo with all the lifestyle benefits that brings.
We had a great conversation about using some of the relationship equity he's already built up in the Alberta market to really solidify his business and a lot about the lifestyle elements of designing a business any way you want.
There are a lot of possibilities in this episode.

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we have a very special podcast with John Paul DeJoria.
You may recognize John Paul's name as the founder of the Paul Mitchell haircare brand and as a billionaire philanthropist. He's a super nice guy, and Joe Polish and I had a chance to speak with him on our I love marketing podcast.
We've got to know him a little over the years. He came to speak at a genius network event, and this podcast was a wonderful conversation talking more about some of the things that are important to him in life and business.
He's a very smart guy, very thoughtful, and it was great to hear about his daily routines and a lot of really cool stuff. There is great information here that I think you will find valuable.

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Michelle Jipguep-Sanders from just outside of Atlanta, where she's been a long time real estate investor, who's now transitioned into being a real estate agent.
We spent the entire hour talking about Getting Listings, and the approach of taking her investment mindset and applying it to listings in any area she wants.
We went through a process of evaluating and choosing the area, then calculating what you could expect as a yield. It was great to hear the light bulb come on when we started evaluating the investment as an investor instead of looking at the money you spend doing lead generation, as an expense.
I asked her how she would think about this as an investor, and it's amazing to see the opportunity we have when you look at it through those goggles.
This is a great episode to see things from that perspective, and I think you'll get a lot from it.

Today on the Listing Agent Lifestyle podcast, we're talking with Kenny MacCarthy, all the way from the North Shore & Cape Ann area of Boston, Massachusetts.
I've known Kenny for many years, he's a great friend, and we had a really good conversation about essentially becoming a media company.
Kenny's a very successful, long-time realtor. He got a great business that's working well. He has an established team. They've been doing Getting Listings programs for oceanfront listings right on Cape Ann, so he has everything working there, but he's looking for more. He always wants to grow.
One of the things Kenny loves to do is make videos. He loves shooting video, playing with the technology, and trying all kinds of video ideas, so we had a great conversation about the possibilities to scratch that itch, and really create some bigger opportunities that he could be excited about working on.
This is a great way to engage people no matter what type of realtor you are, so there are lots of ideas in this show.
